![]() ![]() If you’re not expecting a true successor to the series, nor a real time tactics experience, then I can recommend SS4, otherwise invest your money elsewhere. The scale of operations is significantly reduced both in unit count and battlefield size and thus firing ranges have been dialed down to accommodate for the sake of game balance and the default camera height fully zoomed out it’s akin to COH. The game itself is beautiful and certainly hold it’s on in that department but I often found myself disconnected from battlefield due to a combination of sound design and mechanics. Without going into too much detail, for better or worse SS4 plays like a more feature rich but, not as “tight” or engaging Company of Heroes. ![]() While I was disappointed by both titles I’d say SS4 is the better choice of the two.Ĭan I make a suggestion outside the bounds of these two games? As a longtime fan of both of these series I have to say that they both are heavily divergent from their predecessors, they may be enjoyable in their own right, but a much different experience nonetheless.
